What began with paper trading has grown into a diversified portfolio spanning petrochemicals & polymers, specialty and bulk chemicals, pharmaceutical raw materials, electrical components, and telecom infrastructure. Key Personnel

Chetan Shah

Partner

Chetan Shah joined the Himatlal Group in 1968–69, bringing with him technical training from Europe. He pioneered the introduction of specialized paper and insulating materials to India’s electrical manufacturing sector—serving industries such as transformers, cables, motors, and capacitors. He later established the Himatlal Group of Companies, structuring each vertical as an independent profit center catering to distinct sectors and product lines.

Chirag Shah

Partner

Chirag Shah brings over 25 years of entrepreneurial experience in technology, telecom, and strategic marketing. He co-founded CornerShop Entertainment, a mobile VAS company acquired by Zee TV, and founded TollfreeIndia Technologies, where he continues to serve on the board. At the Himatlal Group, he leads new initiatives and oversees operations across verticals including chemicals and electronic raw materials. Chirag is an alumnus of Mayo College (Ajmer), H.R. College of Commerce (Mumbai), and the University of Denver (USA).

Founder & Inspiration

A third-generation businessman, Mr. Himatlal Shah founded Himatlal & Company in 1943 after completing his undergraduate education. Starting with paper and pulp trading, he forged key international partnerships that laid the foundation for the group’s long-standing focus on agency and representation-based business models. His values of integrity, foresight, and innovation continue to guide the group today.
